Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy for CivilCalc Pro

Effective date: April 22, 2026 Last updated: April 22, 2026 Applies to the Android app and civilcalcpro.com
Plain-language summary.

CivilCalc Pro mainly stores your project and calculation data on your device. Optional features introduce third-party processing: Google Drive backup uses your Google account only if you enable it, Google Play handles purchases and subscriptions, Google Mobile Ads supports the free tier, and website hosting may generate standard request logs. We do not sell your project content or Google Drive backup content for money.

1. Scope and controller

This Privacy Policy explains how CivilCalc Pro ("CivilCalc Pro," "we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use the CivilCalc Pro Android application and the civilcalcpro.com website.

For privacy and legal inquiries, contact contact@civilcalcpro.com. For app support, contact support@civilcalcpro.com.

Important: CivilCalc Pro does not currently require you to create a separate CivilCalc Pro account. Most app content stays on your device unless you actively choose features such as Google Drive backup, export, sharing, advertising-supported usage, or Google Play purchases.

Information you enter into the app

Project names, typed locations, notes, calculation inputs, results, favorites, and settings are content you choose to create or save in the app. By default, these are stored locally on your device so you can reopen and manage your work.

Information we do not need for core local use

You can use the app's local calculator and storage features without creating a separate CivilCalc Pro account. Google account information is involved only if you decide to connect Google Drive backup.

Payments

Payments are processed by Google Play. CivilCalc Pro does not collect or store your full payment card number. We may receive or store purchase status and entitlement information necessary to unlock paid features, restore purchases, or verify access.

3. How we use information

We use information only for the purposes described below.

Purpose Examples Typical legal basis where applicable
Provide the app's core functions Run calculators, save projects, reopen history, remember settings, and generate results Performance of the service you request; legitimate interests in operating the app
Provide optional backup and restore Connect your Google account, create backups, restore prior backups, delete the current cloud backup, and maintain the backup connection you requested Your consent or choice to enable the feature; performance of the requested service

4. Google account and Google Drive backup data

CivilCalc Pro requests Google account access only if you choose to enable backup. That feature is intended to let you back up and restore your CivilCalc Pro data using your own Google account.

  • We use Google account information such as your email address, display name, and profile photo URL to show which account is connected for backup and to maintain the backup connection on your device.
  • We use the Google Drive application-data area only to create, read, update, restore, or delete CivilCalc Pro backup files associated with the app.
  • Backup files can include your projects, saved calculations, favorites, settings, and onboarding state.
  • To support optional background or headless auto-sync behavior, the app stores backup-related credentials or tokens and related backup metadata locally on the device.
  • Connecting a Google account for backup does not create a separate CivilCalc Pro account with us.
  • We do not use Google Drive backup data for advertising, data brokerage, or unrelated profiling.
  • We do not sell your Google Drive backup content for money.

Backup content can include personal or project information that you choose to type into the app, such as project names, manually entered locations, notes, calculation inputs, results, and settings. Only enable backup if you are comfortable storing that information in your own Google account's app-specific Drive storage.

5. Advertising and ad privacy choices

The free tier of CivilCalc Pro may use Google Mobile Ads, including interstitial and rewarded ad formats. Depending on your region, device state, and legal requirements, the app may also present ad-consent or privacy-choice flows at launch and may expose a privacy-choices entry point in Settings.

  • Advertising providers may process data such as IP address, general location derived from IP, device or account identifiers, app interaction events, and diagnostics according to their own policies and service terms.
  • Rewarded ads may be used to unlock specific actions in the free tier unless you hold a paid entitlement that removes that requirement.
  • You can use device and platform controls to limit certain advertising identifiers or personalization where those controls are offered.

6. How information is shared

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share or disclose information only in the following situations:

  • Service providers and platform operators: for example Google Play Billing, Google Sign-In, Google Drive, Google Mobile Ads, and the providers used to host the website.
  • When you choose to share or export: if you export a PDF or CSV or use your device's sharing tools, the receiving apps, platforms, or contacts process the information under their own terms and privacy rules.
  • Legal or safety reasons: where reasonably necessary to comply with law, regulation, court order, enforceable request, or to protect rights, users, or the service.
  • Business transfer scenarios: if the app or related assets are reorganized, merged, financed, or transferred, information may be transferred as part of that process subject to applicable law.

Third-party services used by or with CivilCalc Pro

  • Google Play Billing for subscriptions and one-time purchases
  • Google Mobile Ads for advertising and related privacy-choice flows
  • Google Sign-In and Google Drive for optional backup and restore
  • Website hosting providers for civilcalcpro.com
  • Connectivity checks that may reach Google or Cloudflare endpoints when the app verifies internet access for certain online features

International transfers

Some third-party providers operate globally, which means information may be processed in countries other than your own. Where applicable, those providers are responsible for the safeguards and mechanisms they use for international data transfers under their own services and agreements.

7. Retention and deletion

  • Local app data: retained on your device until you edit or delete it in the app, clear app storage, or uninstall the app.
  • Backup connection details and locally stored backup credentials: retained on your device while backup remains connected, until removed, app storage is cleared, or the app is uninstalled.
  • Google Drive backup files: retained in your Google account's app-specific storage until replaced, deleted from within the app, or otherwise removed from that account. Disconnecting backup in the app does not by itself guarantee deletion of an existing cloud backup file.
  • Purchase and entitlement records: retained locally as needed to manage access, restoration, and fraud prevention, subject to Google Play's own records and retention.
  • Support emails and attachments: retained for as long as reasonably necessary to respond, document requests, resolve disputes, or satisfy legal obligations.
  • Website request logs: retained according to the hosting provider's practices.

Deletion controls

Because CivilCalc Pro does not currently maintain a separate first-party account system, your primary deletion controls are in the app and on your device. You can delete local content, clear app storage, disconnect backup, delete the current cloud backup from the app's backup settings, uninstall the app, and manage subscriptions through Google Play. For information primarily held by Google or another provider under your own account, you may also need to use that provider's own controls.

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect information used by the app and website. Online requests to third-party services are intended to use the transport protections offered by those services and platforms, but no system is perfectly secure and no method of transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Your local app data is primarily protected by your device and operating system controls. You are responsible for safeguarding your device, your Google account, and any exported files you share outside the app. A rooted, jailbroken, or otherwise compromised device can reduce the effectiveness of local protections.

9. Your choices and rights

In-app and device choices

  • You can edit or delete project content and saved calculations within the app.
  • You can clear local app data by deleting content in the app or clearing app storage on your device.
  • You can disconnect Google Drive backup from the app.
  • You can delete the current cloud backup from the app's backup settings.
  • You can manage notification permission in your device settings.
  • You can manage subscriptions through Google Play.
  • You can choose whether to export or share files outside the app.

Advertising choices

Depending on your jurisdiction, device, and Google settings, you may be able to limit certain advertising processing through platform, device, or Google account controls. When required, the app may also provide an in-app ad privacy or privacy-options entry point in Settings so you can revisit relevant ad choices.

Legal rights that may apply to you

Depending on where you live, you may have rights such as access, correction, deletion, portability, withdrawal of consent, restriction, objection, or the right to complain to a regulator. These rights are not absolute and can depend on the legal basis and the nature of the data involved.

To make a request, email contact@civilcalcpro.com and describe your request and the email or account details relevant to it. If the requested data is held primarily by Google, Google Play, or another third party under your own account, you may also need to use that provider's own controls.

California notice

If California law applies to you and CivilCalc Pro qualifies as a covered business for the relevant processing, California residents may have rights such as the right to know, delete, correct, and non-discrimination, and in some cases rights relating to the sale, sharing, or limiting of sensitive personal information. CivilCalc Pro does not sell project content or Google Drive backup content for money.

10. Children's privacy

CivilCalc Pro is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If you believe a child provided personal information to us in a way that should not have happened, contact contact@civilcalcpro.com so we can review the issue.

11. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we may update the date above, update the policy in the app or on the website, and where required by law or platform rules, seek renewed consent or provide additional notice before using information in a materially different way.
